Due to its extraordinary capabilities, it has played a growing role in global disaster relief operations in recent years, bringing rapid aid to such catastrophes as the Haiti quake, Indian Ocean Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, Pakistan floods, and earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan.
